The recent signing of bilateral relations between Liberia and Barbados has strengthened the historical ties between the two countries. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, led a high-level delegation to Ghana to formalize the diplomatic relations between Liberia and Barbados. The signing ceremony, which took place on February 28, 2024, was attended by key officials from both countries, including Madam Juliette Babb-Riley, the Head of Mission of the High Commission of Barbados.

During the two-day working visit, Minister Nyanti and her delegation explored various areas of collaboration with Barbados, including workforce development, tourism, cultural heritage, legal education, agriculture, fisheries, and trade. These initiatives aimed to deepen the ties between the two countries and foster mutually beneficial partnerships.

The historical ties between Barbados and Liberia were also highlighted during the visit, emphasizing the contributions of individuals of Bajan descent to Liberian society. The signing of the bilateral relations underscored the shared history and commitment to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.

In addition to the signing with Barbados, Minister Nyanti and her delegation also met with Her Excellency Ingrid Mollestad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway accredited to Liberia with residence in Ghana. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Liberia and Norway, covering a wide range of topics.

These recent developments reflect Minister Nyanti’s dedication to advancing Liberia’s foreign policy objectives and enhancing its position in the global community.
