Liberia: Boakai Heads to U.S. for UNGA, Key Talks

MONROVIA, Liberia, September 14, 2026 — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has departed Liberia for the United States to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and hold a series of high-level engagements in Washington, D.C., and New York.

President Boakai left Liberia on September 13, according to the Executive Mansion, for a trip that will include meetings with U.S. congressional leaders, United Nations officials and members of the Liberian diaspora.
