Winner Star Supermarket, a local retail outlet, emerged victorious in a Sefalana Cash & Carry contest and took home a brand-new Mahindra Bolero valued at M300 000. The competition, known as the Sefalana Car Giver competition, featured 10 finalists, including both retail outlets and individuals who purchase from the Station Industrial Area-based Sefalana wholesale.

Sefalana is a well-known retail brand in Lesotho, recognized for offering high-quality goods at affordable prices. The finalists competed in a raffle draw, with Winner Star emerging as the grand prize winner of the Mahindra Bolero. Other participants walked away with grocery hampers as consolation prizes.

Dingaan Dingaan, the Marketing Manager of Sefalana, explained that the car giver competition was open to any customer who spent M1000 or more on groceries or purchased three or more UMS brand products at Sefalana. The initiative was aimed at giving back to loyal customers who support the wholesaler year-round.

Mr. Dingaan expressed gratitude towards the customers and emphasized the importance of showing appreciation for their continued patronage. He highlighted that while there are various Sefalana branches across the country, they initiated the competition at the first branch. This marks the fourth car giveaway, following the Nissan MP200 giveaway last year and the Mahindra Bolero giveaway this year.

The competition is an annual event designed to show gratitude towards customers who frequent Sefalana throughout the year. Mr. Dingaan acknowledged the contributions of various brands towards purchasing the car, including Powerup & Win, Super White, Number 1 Mageu, Unity Products, Ace, Raid, Rainbow, Koo, Selati Sprinkle Joy, Bokomo, Colgate, Grande, Aquelle, Dolly Varden, Sasko, Spekko, Wild Island, Best Buy, Food Town, Price rite, Kotex, and Beacon.

The representative from Winner Star Supermarket, a Chinese national, was overwhelmed with joy at winning the grand prize. However, due to language barriers, he was unable to communicate his excitement in English or Sesotho.

Overall, the Sefalana Cash & Carry contest served as a means of appreciating and giving back to loyal customers, reinforcing the retailer’s commitment to providing quality products and rewarding customer loyalty. With the success of the competition, Sefalana continues to solidify its position as a leading retail brand in Lesotho, known for its competitive prices and diverse product offerings.
