The President of the Bangladeshi Association of Lesotho (BAL), Ruhul Quddus, recently called upon his fellow countrymen to collaborate and assist the Basotho people in various areas such as health and education. Dr. Quddus made these remarks during the launch of the BAL at the Maseru Club on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of unity and community support.
At the launch event, Dr. Quddus highlighted the need for the Bangladeshi community in Maseru to come together and work hand in hand with the Basotho people, as they live and operate businesses in Lesotho. The ceremony received support from other expatriate communities including Indians, Pakistanis, Chinese, Nigerians, Congolese, Malawians, Ethiopians, Kenyans, Sri Lankans, Eritreans, Zimbabweans, and Filipinos, who all congratulated the Bangladeshi community on the establishment of the association.
Dr. Quddus expressed the commitment of the Bangladeshi community to supporting the local population, particularly during the upcoming winter season. He mentioned plans to donate clothes to less privileged individuals in remote areas, recognizing the extreme cold experienced during winters in Lesotho. Additionally, the BAL intends to provide medical support and engage in various community activities to give back to the society in which they reside.
