The deployment of electric buses in Kampala City by the Kampala Capital City Authority and Kiira Motors has irked taxi operators, saying it is a conflict of interest and creates unfair competition.

Last week, the KCCA launched eight electric buses owned by Kiira Motors on a handful of city routes as a pilot project increased more government-backed environment friendly public service vans.
