On April 18, 2026, President Museveni visited the Lango Sub-region to thank voters for their support during the January 15 General Election.

Voters across Amolatar, Alebtong, Apac, Dokolo, Kole, Kwania, Lira, Otuke, Oyam districts and Lira City gave the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate 84.49% of the total votes cast.

Lira City recorded 85%, the highest in the sub-region, according to the results.
