The FCV Gladiator Football Camp is set to kick off its second edition at Grange School Lagos on April 1 and will run until April 5. The camp will feature top coaches from the United Kingdom who have already arrived in the country in preparation for the program. Organized by Dynaspro Promotions Limited in collaboration with the UK-based FCV International Academy, the camp aims to uncover young talents, with four outstanding participants expected to receive scholarships.

During the one-week camp, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) will be involved in teaching participants about the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), which focuses on the holistic development of the body and mind through learning. Former Super Eagles player Mutiu Adepoju and sports broadcaster Deji Omotoyinbo will serve as mentors, while three distinguished coaches from the UK, including former Leicester City defender Grant Brown, will lead the training sessions.

Sam Nicholls, Head of Marketing at FCV International Academy, highlighted the uniqueness of the camp, stating that it will provide attendees with the opportunity to receive high-level coaching from experienced coaches and former professional footballers from England. Nigerian students participating in the camp will benefit from the guidance of UEFA qualified coaches to enhance their football skills, techniques, and tactical knowledge, ultimately taking their game to the next level.

Nicholls acknowledged Nigeria’s rich football culture, noting the presence of Nigerian talents in top European leagues and their national team achievements. He expressed anticipation for the discovery of talented young footballers in Nigeria and emphasized the opportunities that FCV International Academy offers to aspiring Nigerian players.

The partnership between FCV International Academy and Dynaspro was commended for its commitment to grassroots sports development in Nigeria. This collaboration provides avenues for talented Nigerian footballers to either join the academy in England or participate in programs like the FCV Gladiator Camp in Nigeria. The goal is to offer young Nigerian footballers a platform to showcase their skills and excel in the sport.

Overall, the FCV Gladiator Football Camp promises an enriching experience for participants, combining elite coaching from UK professionals with the vibrant football culture of Nigeria. Through this initiative, young footballers in Nigeria have the opportunity to enhance their abilities, learn from experienced coaches, and potentially pave the way for a successful career in the sport.
