Kwankwaso meets NDC leaders in Abuja amid calls for alliance with Peter Obi

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, hosted some leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja on Monday.

Among those who visited him was Mohammed Bakin, the party’s national vice-chairman for the north-west. They met at Kwankwaso’s residence in the nation’s capital.

Reports say the the NDC leaders used the meeting to invite Kwankwaso to join their party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In recent weeks, there has been growing talk that Kwankwaso, who is linked with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), may team up with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, for the next election.
