The Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi was filled with the harmonious sounds of praise and worship songs during MTN’s Stands In Worship Concert. This event marked a significant milestone as the first of its kind in Kumasi, bringing a sense of anticipation and enthusiasm to the city.

The atmosphere at the hotel was electric, with attendees eagerly embracing the uplifting melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The event served as a unifying force, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds and beliefs to celebrate their shared love for music and spirituality.

The concert kicked off with a performance by the Kumasi Evangel Choir, treating patrons to renditions of local chorals such as “Just by the Power of God,” “God You’re Good” by Francis Adyei, “Yedi Nkunim,” and “Watua M’aka” by Tagoe Sisters, among others.

As the night unfolded, it became clear that the community’s response was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees were not mere spectators but active participants, engaging wholeheartedly with the performances and contributing to the collective energy of the event.

Apostle Dr. Nana Sarpong delivered a stirring Words of Exhortation titled ‘Consider,’ encouraging Christians to use events like this to glorify God for His mercy and sacrifices. He also urged the youth to avoid violence as the December general elections approached.

ACP Kofi Sarpong, a renowned figure in Ghana’s gospel music scene, took the stage and captivated the audience with his performance. With songs like “Amen,” “Ewuradi Mo,” “Agyenkwa,” and traditional Presbyterian hymns, he engaged the crowd, prompting them to join in singing and dancing.

Brother Sammy, another beloved artist, then took the stage with his soothing voice, creating a sense of tranquility and reverence among the audience. His performance transitioned from local hymns to spirited praises, reigniting the audience’s energy.

Obaapa Christy, a premier vocalist and live band maestro, delighted the audience with a mix of classic and contemporary hits. She enchanted the crowd with songs like “Ebeyeyie,” “Hyebre Sesafo,” “Aseda,” and “Wagye Me.”

The night reached its peak with Kweku Gyasi’s rendition of “Mesuafre Awurade,” drawing eager patrons to the stage to dance and celebrate. The concert transformed the Golden Bean Hotel into a sacred space where people came together to connect with something greater than themselves.

As the event concluded, the memory of the Stand In Worship Concert lingered, leaving a lasting impact on the Kumasi community. The evening showcased the power of music to unite hearts, elevate spirits, and create a sense of community and joy.
