Nigeria still has a chance to win a football gold medal at the ongoing 13th African Games in Ghana, despite the Flying Eagles’ early exit. The women’s U-20 team will face off against their Ghanaian counterparts in the final tomorrow, with hopes of securing victory and bringing home the medal.
Finidi George is set to lead the Super Eagles in two upcoming international friendly matches against Ghana and Mali. This announcement was confirmed through the Super Eagles’ official handle, where a photo of Finidi discussing with team officials was posted. The former Nigeria international will be taking on the role of assistant coach for the national team.
In preparation for the friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda, the Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan, along with 12 other players, have joined the Black Stars’ training camp in Marrakech, Morocco. This news was shared on the Black Stars’ official handle, indicating that the team is gearing up for the upcoming games under the leadership of the Ayew brothers.
Several players have already arrived at the Super Eagles camp in anticipation of the friendly matches against Ghana and Mali. Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Nathan Tella, Moses Simon, and Stanley Nwabali are among the 10 players who are now in camp. They join Semi Ajayi, Jamilu Collins, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyriel Dessers, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. More players are expected to join the camp as preparations continue.
Unfortunately, Victor Osimhen will not be available to play in Nigeria’s friendly matches against Ghana and Mali due to an injury. Osimhen was not part of the lineup for Napoli’s recent match against Inter Milan and had limited training leading up to the game. In conclusion, Nigeria’s football teams are gearing up for exciting matches in the coming days, with hopes of securing victories against tough opponents like Ghana and Mali. Despite challenges such as injuries and early exits from competitions, the teams remain determined to perform at their best and bring home positive results. The football-loving nation is eagerly awaiting the outcome of these matches and showing support for their beloved teams.
