Apple Music has announced Highlife rapper King Paluta as the latest musician to be featured in its Up Next artist development program in Ghana. Born and raised in Atonsu Bokuro, a suburb of Kumasi, King Paluta’s musical journey has been an inspirational one, marked by perseverance and determination. Raised by his single mother, he decided to pursue music at the age of 14 and began immersing himself in the world of music production by cleaning and sleeping in recording studios.

As a self-proclaimed “studio rat”, King Paluta honed his skills by participating in street rap battles, where he gained a reputation for his strong lyrical prowess. Catching the eye of NKZ Music boss, Nana Yaw Maradona (Guru), King Paluta signed with the label before later choosing to reclaim his independence once his contract expired. It was the release of his hit single “Yahitte” in 2022 that propelled him to new heights, garnering over 3 million streams and spawning two remixes, with “Yahitte Remix” reaching over 6 million streams.

With singles like “Sika Aba Fire” and “Aha Akye (feat. Samini)”, King Paluta proved his talent and versatility in the music industry. His latest single “Aseda”, available on Apple Music, showcases a different side of the rapper’s artistry, blending melodic vocals with his signature flow.
