Health officials and HIV/Aids advocates have paid tribute to the late King of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV, for his contribution to the fight against HIV/Aids in Uganda and beyond.
The late monarch was in 2016 appointed a Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/Aids (UNAIDS) Goodwill Ambassador for ending Aids among young people in Eastern and Southern Africa.
At 24, King Oyo took on the role while already recognised as the world’s youngest reigning monarch and an influential voice for young people in the region.
