Kenya: Senate Sitting Adjourned for Lack of Quorum as Senators Keep Off Parliament

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi was forced to adjourn the Thursday, June 27, sitting for lack of quorum.

In the sitting convened at 2:30 pm, only a handful of Senators showed up, with a majority keeping off Parliament Buildings.

Following the procedure, the speaker ordered for the bell to be rang to alert senators who were in Parliament to attend the session, however, the move proved futile.

Shortly after, the Speaker adjourned the sitting and announced that they would reconvene on July 2.
