President William Ruto issued a stern warning to government employees regarding potential corruption scandals in the Affordable Housing Programme. During the Signing of the Housing Bill into law at State House Nairobi on March 19, the President emphasized his zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, outlining measures in place to prevent such occurrences.

Ruto also directed the Ministry of Lands to ensure that social amenities, including designated changing rooms for women, are provided at construction sites to promote gender equality.
In his address, President Ruto called for public support for the programme, highlighting its potential to create jobs for the youth and transform slums into sustainable housing estates. He expressed his commitment to eradicating slums like Kibera within the next decade, emphasizing the importance of providing adequate housing for all citizens.
