A motorist in Narok experienced a harrowing incident on Friday, February 23, when he was robbed of Ksh75,400 and his white Toyota Probox while driving to Olokirikirai Trading Centre. The unfortunate event unfolded when the driver offered a lift to two strangers in Narok town around 8:00 pm, who requested to be dropped off at Tipis.
Upon reaching the trading centre, the two men turned on the driver, armed with knives, and demanded the car keys. Fearing for his safety, the driver complied with their demands as they threatened to harm him. The suspects took control of the vehicle, pushed the driver to the back seat, tied him up, and gagged him with a piece of cloth.
They drove to the ADC Farm in the Tipis area, where they proceeded to rob him of Ksh75,400 and took off with the vehicle. The details of whether the money was in cash or from a mobile wallet were not disclosed by the police. After the robbery, the suspects left the driver stranded at the farm and fled towards Mau Narok-Nakuru Road.
Fortunately, another motorist found the victim and took him to Enaibelbel Health Centre for medical attention. The police report indicated that officers from Olorropil Police Station visited the scene to initiate investigations and track down the suspects. In addition to the traditional investigation methods, the police are using the vehicle’s Global Positioning System (GPS) tracker to monitor its movements and potentially locate the stolen car.
