A pastor in Nyeri County, Apostle Hiram Ndung’u, thought he had left his life of crime behind when he embraced Christianity. However, a final heist with his former accomplices changed his life in an unexpected way. In an interview with Itugi TV, Ndung’u shared his story of redemption and transformation.

Having served two years for robbery-related incidents in the past, Ndung’u was determined to rebuild his life. He settled down, got married, and had a child with his partner. Despite his efforts to leave his criminal past behind, he received a call from a former accomplice who wanted him to return to his old ways. Reluctant at first, Ndung’u eventually succumbed to the temptation to relive his former glory.

One fateful day, Ndung’u observed a large motorcade heading towards a dowry ceremony in his neighborhood. He informed his accomplice about the event, which led to a heist at the homestead. While he initially did not want to participate, Ndung’u ended up being the getaway driver for the crew, which stole cash and valuables from the property.

After the heist, Ndung’u began to feel uneasy about the situation. His suspicions were confirmed when the police showed up at his doorstep, searching for evidence of his involvement in the crime. Despite his attempts to defend himself, Ndung’u was taken to the scene of the crime where a mob awaited him. Refusing to divulge his accomplices’ names, Ndung’u was brutally beaten by the angry residents.

Desperate to save himself, Ndung’u eventually disclosed the names of his accomplices to the authorities. Subsequently, he was arrested and sentenced to death for his involvement in the crime. However, years later, Ndung’u appealed the judgment and was pardoned by the judge.

Reflecting on his past actions, Ndung’u acknowledged the mistakes he had made and the consequences he had faced. He expressed gratitude for the second chance he had been given and vowed to live a life dedicated to serving God and helping others.

Ndung’u’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of redemption and the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions. Through his experiences, he has found a new purpose in life and a renewed commitment to living a life of integrity and faith.
