Only about one in every 10 Kenyan households earns more than Ksh50,000 a month, according to a new survey by TIFA, highlighting the financial reality facing families amid persistent cost-of-living pressures.
The June 2026 TIFA survey found that only about 11 per cent of households reported a total monthly income exceeding Ksh50,000, meaning roughly 89 per cent live on Ksh50,000 or less each month.
