Kenya: Mombasa Bans On-Site Mixing of Ballast, Sand and Cement to Mitigate Flooding

Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Nassir has announced new restrictions on construction activities as the county prepares for heavy rainfall and a heightened risk of flooding. 

The Governor said mixing sand, ballast and cement at construction sites will be prohibited starting Monday, September 14, after a 48-hour transition period. 

Nassir directed developers who already have approvals to use up their materials within the two-day window or store them until further notice.
