Police in Kisumu County have launched a manhunt for a man suspected of brutally hacking four members of his family to death in Milenya area, Muhoroni. The horrifying incident took place on a Saturday evening, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.

The suspect, who is currently on the run, is believed to have killed his pregnant wife and their 5-year-old son in their home. The gruesome discovery was made by family members who noticed a pool of blood flowing from the house. The victims had suffered deep cuts, indicating a violent and senseless attack.

After attacking his wife and son, the suspect then proceeded to his uncle’s house under false pretenses of resolving a dispute between siblings. However, he viciously attacked his 78-year-old uncle with a machete before fleeing the scene. The elderly man was found dead at his homestead, just 1 kilometer away from where the initial murders took place.

The suspect did not stop there, as he also killed his 58-year-old aunt, who was the wife of his deceased uncle, before disappearing into a nearby sugarcane plantation. The bodies of the victims were moved to the Ahero sub-county morgue for autopsy and further investigation.

One of the most chilling aspects of this tragedy is the apparent lack of motive. Family members have stated that the suspect had no history of conflict or violence with his relatives. They describe him as a peaceful and level-headed individual who always preferred dialogue in resolving conflicts.

Furthermore, the suspect has no known history of drug abuse or alcoholism, raising more questions about what could have triggered such a violent outburst. The community is struggling to make sense of the senseless loss of four innocent lives at the hands of someone they knew and trusted.

This incident is part of a disturbing trend of domestic violence and killings that have been on the rise in the country. Just a few weeks prior, a man surrendered to the police after killing his wife in Kilifi County, while another man stabbed his wife to death in Juja, Kiambu County.

The brutal and senseless nature of these crimes serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for intervention and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues or unresolved conflicts. As the search for the suspect continues, the community mourns the tragic loss of four lives and hopes for justice to be served.
