The Kenya Revenue Authority has clarified that retired government employees are still required to file for annual tax returns even when they have no source of income.

According to KRA, retired public servants are still required to file for tax returns as long as their Personal Identification Number (PIN) remains active.

However, the retirees are supposed to file for nil returns in cases they do not have an active source of income, the taxman explained.
