Kirinyaga Women Representative Njeri Maina is taking a stand against the cartels responsible for selling fake fertilizers in Kenya. She believes that these cartels are working to undermine the government’s efforts to prioritize the Kenya Kwanza agenda and plan. At an event in Kisii on Saturday, March 23, Njeri expressed her frustration with the situation, attributing the sale of fake fertilizers to government critics who have organized themselves into cartels.

Njeri emphasized the importance of supporting farmers to produce food and criticized those who are selling fake fertilizers for their own gain. She accused the cartels of trying to tarnish the government’s reputation by spreading misinformation about the effectiveness of the fertilizers. Njeri called on President William Ruto to take action against these cartels, stressing that they are hindering the government’s efforts to ensure food security for all Kenyans.

In addition to addressing the issue of fake fertilizers, Njeri also spoke out about the ongoing doctors’ strike and healthcare in the country. She raised concerns about doctors misusing taxpayer funds by running parallel private clinics instead of serving patients in public hospitals. Njeri urged health workers to prioritize their duties and warned of the serious consequences the strike could have on people’s lives.

Meanwhile, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa refuted claims that detectives in Kakamega had seized fake fertilizer. Barasa dismissed the allegations as attempts to smear his reputation and hinder the progress of development projects in Kakamega County. He emphasized that his administration is committed to serving the people of Kakamega and will not be deterred by false accusations and rumors.

Barasa’s remarks at a burial ceremony in Mumias underscore the challenges faced by public officials in combating misinformation and malicious attacks. Despite the obstacles, leaders like Njeri Maina and Fernandes Barasa remain steadfast in their commitment to advancing the interests of their constituents and prioritizing the welfare of the Kenyan people.

As the government continues its efforts to address issues related to agriculture, healthcare, and public service delivery, it is essential for leaders and citizens alike to remain vigilant against fraudulent activities and divisive tactics employed by cartels and detractors. By working together and holding accountable those who seek to undermine progress and sow discord, Kenya can continue to move forward towards a brighter and more prosperous future for all its citizens.
