The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a seven-day notice to all roadside traders operating along sections of the Thika Superhighway. 

In a public notice released on Monday, February 9, 2026, the authority announced the construction of new bus bays at Roysambu and Githurai, with businesses along these areas directed to vacate the road reserves to pave way for the construction.
