Kenya: Kameme Among 23 Stations at Risk of Closure for Violating Betting Regulations

The Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) has announced that 23 television stations, including popular outlets such as Kameme TV, face immediate closure for violating betting advertisement regulations.

In a statement signed by BCLB Director P.K. Mbugi dated May 5, 2025, the board indicated that the listed TV stations continued to air betting content with payment prompts, despite an earlier directive suspending such advertisements.
