Police in Kisii have launched a manhunt for four prisoners who escaped custody after breaking down their cell door at the Magena Police Station.

During their escape, the four are reported to have assaulted and injured an officer who was keeping guard.

According to the police report, one of the escapees used a wooden door frame from the broken cell door to hit the guard on his forehead.
