Several flights on Thursday, July 24 scheduled to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were diverted.

According to a statement, this unexpected turn of events was due to adverse weather conditions as warned by the Kenya Meteorological Department.

This poor weather impaired the vision of the pilots who were advised by control tower operators to divert to Moi International Airport in Mombasa.
