The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismantled a mobile phone theft and black-market network operating across Nairobi, extending beyond the country’s borders, following public complaints over rising cases of phone snatching in the city.

The detectives revealed on Saturday that they conducted an intelligence-led multi-agency operation that led to the arrest of seven suspects believed to be orchestrating the thefts and trading the stolen devices on the black market.
