Former Citizen TV News Anchor Jacque Maribe has recently secured a new job at the office of Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria. Kuria appointed Maribe as the Head of Communications just a month after she was acquitted in the murder case of Monica Kimani. Dennis Itumbi, a Digital Strategist, celebrated Maribe’s achievement and thanked CS Moses Kuria for ‘standing with a generation’. Itumbi shared his congratulations to Maribe and wished her well in her new role.

In a significant turn of events, Lady Justice Grace Nzioka found Jacque Maribe not guilty in the murder case of Monica Kimani on February 9. The judge noted the lack of concrete evidence linking Maribe to the crime that took place in September 2018. Despite being charged alongside her former boyfriend Joseph Irungu, also known as Jowie, Maribe was acquitted while Jowie was found guilty. The judge highlighted the absence of evidence placing Maribe at the scene of the crime or in communication with the deceased, leading to her acquittal.

Maribe’s career in the media industry faced challenges following the murder case in 2018, which led to her departure from her Citizen TV anchoring position. She briefly returned as an editor but ultimately left in July 2019. Subsequently, she launched a talk show on YouTube, though it was short-lived after featuring guest appearances by Moses Kuria and Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata (then a Senator). Despite the setbacks in her career, Maribe has now found a new opportunity in the public service sector through her role in Kuria’s office.

The news of Maribe’s appointment has garnered attention and applause, marking a positive step in her post-legal battle journey. Her resilience and determination to overcome challenges have been evident in her career trajectory, from the highs of a prominent news anchor to the lows of a legal battle, and now to a new beginning in public service communications. Itumbi’s words of encouragement and gratitude towards Kuria for supporting Maribe reflect the spirit of unity and empowerment within the community.

As Maribe embarks on this new chapter in her career, the support and well-wishes from colleagues, friends, and well-wishers will undoubtedly provide her with the strength and motivation to excel in her role. Her experience in the media industry and her journey through adversity will serve as a source of inspiration and resilience in her new position. Congratulations to Jacque Maribe on her appointment, and may she continue to shine in her endeavors as the Head of Communications at the office of Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
