Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court Martha Koome has established four new magistrates’ courts in different parts of Kenya as the Judiciary moves to bring court services closer to the public.
The new courts are located in Emuhaya, Maara, Tarakwa and Kegonga, with the four stations taking effect from September 1, 2026.
According to Gazette Notices dated August 26, 2026, the Emuhaya Magistrates’ Court will operate under the supervisory jurisdiction of the Vihiga High Court.
