Kenya: Chaos in Githurai as Residents Clash With Police Over Market Demolitions

Protests erupted in Githurai on Wednesday after residents demonstrated against the demolition of structures at the Githurai market that was to happen today. 

The unrest saw residents engage in running battles with police officers and setting tyres along the Thika Superhighway, disrupting movement in the area.

 Gunshots were reportedly fired in the air, but no casualties have been reported so far.
