Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor Dr Kamau Thugge has dismissed fears of a possible depreciation of the Kenyan shilling in 2026, assuring the public that the local currency is expected to remain stable amid strong economic fundamentals.

Speaking during the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) briefing on February 11, Thugge said CBK does not foresee pressure on the exchange rate, despite global market uncertainties and speculation projecting potential weakening of the shilling by year-end.
