Two police officers were victims of a robbery on Friday, April 19, in Vihiga County. The incident occurred at the County Commissioner’s office, where the officers were on duty. According to a police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the two officers, a female Administration Police Officer, and her colleague were approached by two armed thugs seeking access to the office. However, the officers denied entry to the suspects, leading to a confrontation.
During the altercation, one of the suspects attacked the female officer with a sharp object, causing serious injuries to the right side of her head. The colleague who tried to intervene was also hit on the head with a stone. The thugs took advantage of the chaos and seized the female cop’s rifle, which was loaded with ammunition.

Subsequently, the Vihiga Sub-County Police Commander, the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) Commander, and the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Mbale visited the scene to investigate and document the events. The injured officers were rushed to Vihiga County Referral Hospital for medical attention.
Authorities, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), have launched a manhunt for the robbers.
