The price of cooking gas is set to remain tight after the government announced it has rejected a Ksh 2.5 billion deal with Saudi Aramco, citing untenable terms that would have granted the company exclusive supply rights.
Appearing before the Senate committee on energy, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi said that Kenya had walked out of the deal with the Saudi Arabian company after negotiations to supply cheaper gas to Kenya failed to bear fruit because of untenable terms.
