A tragic road accident along Thika Road has claimed the lives of at least 10 teachers, leaving the education fraternity in mourning.

The teachers died when a 33-seater matatu lost control and rammed into them outside City Primary School in Ngara on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

14 other teachers sustained injuries and were rushed to Guru Nanak MP Shah Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital for emergency treatment.
