The Judiciary has set September 14 as the date for the start of hearing 118 parliamentary and Local Council election petitions for the January 2026 General Election.
The hearings, which will run until November 13, will be conducted across the High Court circuits and the Civil Division in Kampala, according to an internal memo issued by the Chambers of the Principal Judge on September 2.
“The hearing and handling of the election petitions shall commence on Monday, September 14, 2026, and the exercise shall run up to Friday, November 13,” the memo reads in part.
