Military personnel from Cape Verde and the National Guard of the State of New Hampshire (USA) will begin the Granite Falco exercise today in São Vicente.

The exercise will run until April 8, in two phases, with the participation of 22 National Guard members from New Hampshire and 40 military personnel from the Cape Verde Armed Forces, divided into two groups of 20, including aviators, doctors, and mechanics.

The same source expects that this will be another “highlight” of the partnership established between the two parties on February 4, 2022, with the common purpose of strengthening national capacities through military exchanges, in a relationship that is intended to be “fruitful, lasting, and beneficial for all”.

The exercise starting today aims to exchange experiences and reinforce the knowledge of Cape Verdean military personnel in search and rescue operations, through advanced training in a variety of practical scenarios using helicopters.

The first phase of the exercise runs from today until the 26th, and the second phase from March 26 to April 8, with the highlight on the 28th being the official ceremony with the presence of authorities from Cape Verde and the USA.
