Primary elections for the forthcoming by-election for the House of Representatives seat for Garki/Babura Federal Constituency in Jigawa State have been conducted by the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The by-election follows the death of the member representing the constituency, Isa Dogon Yaro, on May 9, 2024.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, scheduled the by-election for August 16, 2025.
The NNPP primary election was held at the party’s local government secretariat in Babura, while that of the APC took place at the Duplex, also in Babura, all on Saturday.
