One day ago, the Super Eagles impressed and united Nigerians in a way that they haven’t in a while. The Federal Government plans to host the team in Abuja for a ‘befitting’ reception and to reward the players and officials ‘adequately’ for their efforts at the Africa Cup of Nations, which concludes on Sunday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, set a new national goalkeeping record on Wednesday by playing the most minutes without conceding a goal at the Africa Cup of Nations. He surpassed Super Eagles legend Ike Shorunmu, who featured in two AFCONs.
