WOMEX is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusivity and actively encourages submissions from individuals of all backgrounds. The organization seeks proposals that contribute to the diversity of the global music scene, encompassing elements such as culture, region, gender, styles, performance traditions, and more.
The official programme for WOMEX is chosen annually by an independent, international jury known as the Seven Samurai. The members of this year’s jury will be announced in the coming weeks.
Submissions are accepted in four categories: Showcase, Club summit, Film, and Conference.
Showcase:
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to perform at the premier global music showcase event in front of international concert and festival bookers, tour promoters and venues, labels, distributors, journalists, and industry professionals. Submissions are welcome from all corners of the world, including blues, jazz, and other genres. More information about the showcase category can be found here.
Club summit:
WOMEX presents a specialized Club Summit, showcasing DJs and producers from various musical backgrounds and global electronic music scenes. DJs/producers of any genre, medium, and background are encouraged to apply and bring their sounds to the world. More information about the club summit category can be found here.
Film:
The WOMEX Film category provides a platform to connect the international music and film communities by presenting documentaries that portray music, movements, and histories from around the world. Filmmakers can apply to have their feature, medium-length, or short film shown at WOMEX. More information about the film category can be found here.
Conference and mentoring:
The WOMEX Conference seeks proposals from representatives of every sector, aiming to move the industry forward by presenting their visions, mapping out ideas, and sharing hands-on expertise.
