Sidney Washington Daniels, the founder of Ghana Western Achievement & Excellence Awards (GWAEA), has announced the inception of a new awards scheme that will run concurrently with GWAEA starting in 2025. This new sister scheme, named Ghana Achievement & Billionaires Leadership Awards (GWABLA), will be held alongside GWAEA at the same venue each year, honoring top wealthy individuals in the western region who are making significant contributions to the area’s development.
Unlike GWAEA, which recognizes a broader range of achievements, GWABLA will focus specifically on honoring wealthy individuals in the western region. Only five honor categories will be awarded each year, maintaining a tight nomination process to highlight the most deserving recipients. The honorees of GWABLA will be selected based on their accomplishments and contributions to the region, rather than any hierarchical ranking among them.
Sidney Washington Daniels, also known as UK Suge Knight, is a UK-based Ghanaian-British criminologist and media mogul. He has been involved in producing movies under his LondonHills Production label and supporting music projects featuring rappers and singers from the western region. Recognizing outstanding achievements and excellence is his top priority, with the GWABLA and GWAEA events serving as platforms to honor those who have made significant contributions to their community.
The GWAEA has successfully hosted three editions of its awards ceremony, with the fourth edition scheduled for next December after being postponed due to this year being an election year. Similar to previous editions, the 2025 ceremony will feature invited guests from the UK, including fashion models, investors, and high-profile personalities from various industries.
The GWAEA founder, Sidney Washington Daniels, has emphasized the importance of recognizing the achievements of individuals and companies in the region. The GWABLA scheme aims to offer a platform for affluent individuals in the western region to be honored for their contributions to the community’s development and growth. As Sidney continues to expand his media and recognition endeavors, the focus remains on celebrating excellence and success in the western region.
