Located near the Nsimalen interchange, this innovative infrastructure promises to significantly improve urban mobility and stimulate the local economy.

“In pictures, the first modern motorbike station in Cameroon built under the impetus of the MINHDU, near the Nsimalen interchange,” with this sentence, the ministerial department headed by Célestine Ketcha Courtès unveiled this new infrastructure aimed at improving urban mobility in the city of Yaoundé.

The Nsimalen interchange, located near the Yaoundé-Nsimalen international airport, is known for its difficult access to transportation. The strategic location of this motorbike station, near the Nsimalen interchange, was not chosen by chance.

Indeed, the Nsimalen interchange is a crucial nodal point for travel in the region, connecting the capital Yaoundé to the Nsimalen international airport and other major cities in the country. This proximity will undoubtedly allow better accessibility and harmonious integration with other modes of transport, thus facilitating the smooth flow of exchanges and travel.

The construction of this motorbike station brings several notable advantages. Firstly, it allows better traffic management by avoiding the chaotic congestion of motorbike taxis on the public road. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents related to these motorized vehicles often used by local populations as a primary means of transport.

However, the comments under the post announcing this new infrastructure are sour. “The goal was as usual to line their pockets because in reality, I do not see the importance of this building. First, the bensikineurs in this area cannot suffice there,” mentioned an internet user on the Facebook page of this ministerial department.

“Lord, this is what these people think we deserve. They want to bring us lower than the ground. A motorbike station. Thanks to MINDHU. Structural projects. Cameroon will be emerging in 2035,” ironically points out another internet user.

“While we are inaugurating Train, Metro, and Tramway lines elsewhere (Ethiopia, Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, etc…), you are inaugurating MOTORBIKE STATIONS in Cameroon. It’s true that our leaders have no heart, no shame. Why do you always want to soil us in this way? Did you have to publish this here?” another one indignantly reacts. And we could ask ourselves in the face of these negative comments, “Was this there before?”
