In an interview with a journalist from Guineematin.com on Thursday, March 7, 2024, Elhadj Mamadou Diouma Bah, president of the residents of Pita in Conakry and around the world, shared his feelings and expectations regarding the recent appointment of Bah Oury, one of their own, as Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea. This prominent member of the UFDG, led by Cellou Dalein Diallo, calls on all the people of Guinea to put the past behind them, to join hands, help the Prime Minister, Bah Oury, and the President of the Transition to succeed in the Transition.

The announcement of the appointment on February 27 was greeted with enthusiasm and pride by the community of Pita, a prefecture located in the Mamou administrative region. On behalf of the residents of Pita, Elhadj Mamadou Diouma Bah thanked General Mamadi Doumbouya for choosing one of their own to entrust with the Prime Ministership.

“We welcomed with enthusiasm the appointment of our brother, Mr. Amadou Oury Bah, commonly known as Bah Oury, as Prime Minister. I would like to take this opportunity to first congratulate him warmly, and on behalf of the residents of Pita prefecture, thank the Head of State, General Mamadi Doumbouya, for choosing Mr. Bah Oury. As president of the residents of Pita, naturally, it is a feeling of joy and satisfaction. At the same time, it is a duty for us as residents of Pita to support him, to help him, to advise him so that he can bring together as many Guineans as possible and use their talents to solve the various problems that plague our society. Taking the Guineans in their multi-ethnic composition to meet the expectations of our populations. You know we are in a period of transition, if the president puts his trust in Mr. Bah, he should do everything possible, go all the way successfully, in joy and mutual understanding,” he said.

Speaking of the remarkable journey and commitment of the new Prime Minister towards the progress of our country, Elhadj Mamadou Diouma Bah expressed his confidence in Bah Oury for his understanding of the political landscape.

“For anyone who knows Mr. Bah Oury, he is a man who, from a young age, has been committed to building a rule of law in our country. He has been involved in all the struggles since the establishment of the Human Rights Organization in Guinea (OGDH) to the various political party alliances. So, he is a major player in the country’s political class. He is familiar with all the problems related to the twists and turns of democracy. So we think he is a seasoned player; because he has enough information and experience about it. For some time now, he has participated in all the meetings of the national dialogue with political parties and civil society. And he was appointed while Guinea was in crisis with the strike by the unions; but I think he will succeed in bringing all the actors around the table to solve the problems in order of priority and according to the needs of our country’s society.”

Finally, the Founder of BAH-KANE schools invited all Guineans to put aside their differences to support the Prime Minister and the President of the Transition in returning to constitutional order.

“It is a call to the entire people of Guinea to support the Prime Minister and the President of the transition so that together, as Guineans, we can put aside all that divides us and try to put Guinea above all. Guinea belongs to all of us. No one chose to be Guinean. So, let’s all join hands and try to identify skills wherever they are to value them in order to solve the problems. The path is certainly not easy, but with dialogue and openness, I think it is possible,” said Elhadj Mamadou Diouma Bah, president of the residents of Pita prefecture and Founder of BAH-KANE schools.
