Guinea: Several Directors General and their deputies dismissed – Africa Links 24

In a series of decrees read on television on Saturday, March 16, 2024, the transitional president, General Mamadi Doumbouya, dismissed several general directors and their deputies.

The first decree concerns executives of Electricité de Guinée (EDG). They are Laye Camara, general director of Electricité de Guinée (EDG); Fodé Soumah, deputy general director in charge of operations at EDG; and Abdoulaye Koné, deputy general director in charge of improvement and efficiency at EDG. Before the appointment of the holders of these positions according to the decree, the interim will be ensured by the director of production.

The second decree concerns the National Oil Company (SONAP). There, Amadou Doumbouya, general director, and his deputy, Fatoumata Camara, are dismissed. Article 2 of the decree specifies that the director of the Downstream sector will act as interim head of the service pending the appointment of new holders.

The third decree concerns officials of the National Agency for the Development of Mining Infrastructures (ANAIM) who have been removed from their positions. They are Mohamed Bangoura, general director of ANAIM, and Djossè Oularé, deputy general director. The director of internal audit is responsible for ensuring the interim until the appointment of the holders, as specified in the decree.
