Grammy award winner, Roberta Flack dies at 88

Roberta Flack, the Grammy-winning singer and pianist is dead.

Flack whose intimate vocal and musical style on “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and other hits made her one of the top recording artists of the 1970s died on Monday.

CBS said the influential performer died at the age of 88 years old.

A statement by her publicist said: “We are heartbroken that the glorious Roberta Flack passed away this morning, February 24, 2025.
