The Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Juma Witonze Kisekka, has urged the people of Tooro to remain calm and peaceful as government and the kingdom consult President Yoweri Museveni on the next step in succession following the death of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
The minister was speaking during the mourning of the late King on Thursday at Karuziika Palace.
He said government recognises uncertainty surrounding succession of the 34-year-old monarch, but appealed to wait for guidance from President Museveni, whom he described as the “Chief Elder”.
