Google has recently unveiled a new offer for Google Photos users, giving them complimentary access to an array of cutting-edge AI-powered photo editing tools. These tools include features such as Magic Eraser for removing unwanted objects from images, Photo Unblur for sharpening out-of-focus images, and Portrait Light for adjusting the lighting in photos.

Previously, these AI capabilities were only available to Pixel phone users and Google One cloud storage subscribers. However, starting from May 15, Google has announced that all users will be able to enjoy these features over the course of several weeks. This extension also includes support for new devices, such as Pixel tablets.

For desktop users, a Chromebook Plus running ChromeOS version 118+ or a minimum of 3GB of RAM is required to access these features. Mobile users must have either iOS 15 or Android 8.0 installed on their devices.

One of the standout features included in this offer is the Magic Editor tool, which was first introduced alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro last fall. This tool utilizes generative AI to seamlessly fill in missing elements in photos, offering a variety of enhancements such as repositioning subjects, removing objects, and adjusting the color of the sky to enhance the overall visual appeal of the image.

Starting from the following month, Google plans to expand the availability of the Magic Editor feature to all Pixel smartphones. Every Google Photos user on iOS and Android will receive 10 Magic Editor photo saves per month. Additionally, Pixel device users and Google One premium members with a 2TB storage plan will have unlimited saves available to them.

This move by Google is an effort to democratize access to advanced photo editing tools powered by AI technology. By making these features available to a wider user base, Google aims to empower more users to enhance and personalize their photos with professional-level editing tools.

In conclusion, Google’s announcement of complimentary access to AI-powered photo editing tools for all Google Photos users is a significant step towards democratizing advanced photo editing capabilities. With features like Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light now available to a broader user base, Google is making it easier for users to enhance and personalize their photos with cutting-edge technology.
