The call for artistic and cultural initiatives is now open to all parts of Nigeria and various sectors, providing support for solo artists, collectives, and cultural experts to bring their projects to life. Goethe-Institut Nigeria has a history of backing diverse art projects such as music, contemporary dance, photography, documentary films, theatre, visual arts, and literature. The support also extends to artists and cultural experts invited to festivals or cultural projects in Germany or elsewhere in Africa that lack adequate funding.

The application deadline for these projects is February 15th. There are various funding opportunities available:

1. Art and culture projects (up to €5,000 each): Open to solo artists or collectives with a minimum of three years of professional experience. The project must be well-developed and scheduled for implementation in 2024, with completion by December 10, 2024.

2. Art and culture festivals (up to €5,000 each): Designed for art and culture festivals happening in Nigeria. Eligible festivals must be at least in their third year and scheduled for implementation over the year, with completion by December 10, 2024.

3. Art and culture travel grant (up to €2,500 each): Intended for individuals with an official invitation to a cultural festival/event/project in Germany or any African country. The host organization in Germany or Africa must cover accommodation and other living expenses during the event. Travel must take place in 2024, with completion by December 10, 2024.

The application process involves an independent jury selecting projects by the end of February, with project implementation taking place from March 15 to December 10, 2024. Submission of a project report is required by the end of January 2025.

The application documents include an application form with a budget plan, CV of the project leader/visiting artist, further references and material, and a copy of the passport photograph.
