The CGI, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, applauded the team for their impressive medal tally, describing their performance as a historic moment for Ghana. As a sports enthusiast and loyal supporter of Accra Great Olympics, Mr. Takyi recommended the recruitment of the five civilian members of the team into the Ghana Immigration Service due to their remarkable achievements. Reflecting on the success of the team, Mr. Takyi highlighted the positive impact of their achievements on the reputation of the Ghana Immigration Service. He emphasized how their performance has not only brought honor to the Service but has also served as a powerful branding opportunity. Through their accomplishments, the officers have effectively showcased the values of the Ghana Immigration Service and have earned respect both locally and globally.

In response, Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the GAF, expressed gratitude to the CGI and senior officials of the Ghana Immigration Service for their support and commitment to the sport of armwrestling. He reaffirmed the federation’s dedication to collaborating closely with the Service to promote and develop the sport further, making it a popular choice for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

At the African Games, Team Ghana collectively secured 41 medals in armwrestling, contributing significantly to Ghana’s overall medal tally of 68. The success of the armwrestling team has not only brought recognition to the athletes and the Ghana Immigration Service but has also highlighted the talent and potential of Ghanaian sportsmen and women on the continental stage.

In conclusion, the achievements of the Ghanaian armwrestling team at the African Games serve as a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of the individuals involved.
