The Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Abdalfatah Alsattari, demonstrated his commitment to supporting the local community during the holy month of Ramadan by presenting assorted items to more than 150 Muslim women in Accra. The generous donation included bags of rice, oil, sugar, tin tomatoes, spaghetti, tins of milk, and sardines to help the beneficiaries with their evening meals, known as ‘Iftar’. This act of kindness was a way to show love and support to those in need during this special time.
In addition to the donation to the Muslim women, the Palestinian Embassy also organized a special event for 180 children from four communities in Ayikuma near Dodowa. The children were treated to live band music and received gifts as a gesture of goodwill. This event aimed to bring joy to the children and spread happiness within the community.
Mr Alsattari emphasized the importance of showing support and care for those in need, especially during Ramadan. Despite the challenges faced by Palestinians due to the conflicts in Gaza and Palestine, the Palestinian community in Ghana was dedicated to bringing smiles to both Muslim and Christian communities in Accra, such as Madina, Nima, Fadama, and Shukura.
He expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their solidarity with Palestine over the years and highlighted the importance of unity and compassion during times of hardship. The spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shiabu, echoed this sentiment by urging Muslims to demonstrate love, give hope to others, and refrain from violence during Ramadan.
Sheikh Shiabu reminded Muslims to maintain their integrity and not allow themselves to be swayed by politicians seeking to manipulate them for their own gain, especially with elections approaching. He encouraged Muslims to uphold honesty, care for others, and be agents of peace in their communities.
The ambassador and the Palestinian community in Ghana were commended for their generous actions, which were seen as a valuable contribution to supporting those in need during Ramadan. Sheikh Shiabu urged Muslims to actively engage in campaigns for peace and to stand against violence, corruption, and wickedness within society.
As Muslims emerged from Ramadan with a renewed sense of purpose and purity, Sheikh Shiabu called on them to uphold their values and integrity. He emphasized the importance of remaining principled and not succumbing to dishonest practices, particularly when it comes to matters of voting and political influence.
In conclusion, the generosity and compassion shown by the Palestinian Ambassador and the Palestinian community in Ghana serve as a reminder of the true spirit of Ramadan – a time for giving, sharing, and showing kindness to others. Through their actions, they have inspired others to reflect on the importance of empathy, unity, and support for those in need.
