The process for aspiring parliamentary candidates to file their nominations for the upcoming election has been set to begin on April 2 and close on April 4, 2024. Additionally, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold its parliamentary primaries for the Ejisu constituency on April 13, 2024.

To become an Aspiring Parliamentary Candidate (APC), individuals must obtain a Nomination Form by paying a non-refundable application fee of GHC 3,000.00. This payment should be made in the form of a Bankers Draft payable to the NPP National Headquarters in Accra. Furthermore, to complete the nomination process, a non-refundable filing fee of GHC 35,000.00 must be paid in favor of the NPP National Headquarters.

However, there are special considerations for Women, Youth, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) who wish to seek higher political office. These individuals will receive a 50% rebate on the filing fees, requiring them to pay a reduced fee of GHC 17,500.00. A youth is defined as a person between the ages of 18 and 40.

Access to purchase Nomination Forms should not be denied to any individual, as per the guidelines set forth by the NPP. The Election Committee (EC) members appointed by the party include Mr. Danquah Smith Butey as Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako as Vice Chairman, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, Mr. Evans Nimako as Secretary, and the Chairperson of the Constituency Council of Elders. All Constituency Executives serve as ex-officio members of the committee.

The NPP emphasizes the importance of active participation from its members and encourages all stakeholders to support the electoral process to ensure a successful by-election. As the nomination filing period approaches, aspiring candidates are advised to adhere to the stipulated procedures and deadlines to participate in the upcoming parliamentary primaries and election.
