The National Sports Authority (NSA) welcomed its new Director General, Mr. Dodzie Numekevor, with a staff introduction ceremony held at the Head Office and Greater Accra region. The event was well-attended, with the Deputy Director General, Mr. Majeed Bawa, and other management members introducing Mr. Numekevor to the staff.
Mr. Numekevor, a former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana High Commission in the UK, expressed his enthusiasm in meeting the staff and expressed his commitment to working with them to restore the Authority to its former glory. He assured the staff of his fairness and encouraged them to remain loyal to the NSA and to focus on fulfilling the Authority’s mandate.
In his address, Mr. Numekevor emphasized the importance of embracing innovation, stating his intention to digitalize the NSA’s operations by providing efficient and uninterrupted internet services and other IT-related accessories. He also highlighted the potential for the Authority to explore and implement various innovations to generate internal funds following the passage of the Legislative Instrument (LI) of the Sports Bill.
Furthermore, Mr. Numekevor stressed the need for staff to stay focused on the Authority’s goals and to remain dedicated to their work. He encouraged a culture of innovation and adaptability within the organization, emphasizing the importance of staying up-to-date with technological advancements to enhance the NSA’s operations.
The introduction ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the National Sports Authority under the leadership of Mr. Dodzie Numekevor. With his background in public relations and commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, Mr. Numekevor is poised to lead the NSA towards a successful and sustainable future.
